Finishing Carpenter

 

 

Choicelle Hardware Inc. is looking for Finishing Carpenter to join the team.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours / week)
Wage: $40 per hour

 Located in Coquitlam, BC, Choicelle Hardware Inc. is currently looking for Finishing Carpenter to join the team on our projects throughout Lower Mainland areas.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reading blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements and layouts in conformance to building codes

• Perform finish and trim carpentry work according to plans and specifications
• Measure, cut, and install hardware and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, baseboards, etc.
• Erect scaffolding or ladders as needed to work in heights
• Supervise carpenter apprentices
• Efficiently collaborate with other carpenters and journeymen to complete projects
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with building components and equipment
• Follow established regulations and advocate for safety on each worksite

Required Education & Experience:

• Minimum 4-5 years of carpentry experience in residential and commercial construction projects
  • Completion of Secondary school is required
  • Registered apprenticeship is an asset

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Blueprint reading skills
• Experience working with construction software such as Procore and Autodesk
• Proficiency in using carpentry power tools like table saws, planers, sanders, power drills, and hand tools
• Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills for accurate measurements
• Ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Leadership and supervisory skills
• Physical stamina for lifting heavy tools and materials up to 100 lb
• Ability to work at heights and in tight spaces
• Ability to stand, climb, and bend for extended periods
• Excellent hand-eye coordination for accurate cutting and shaping of the materials
• Knowledge of BC building code standards
• Attention to details
