Personal Support Worker

 

 

Our family in North York, Ontario is looking for a Personal Support Worker for two seniors.

 

• Salary: $20.00 per hour
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free
• Work Location: 16 Maureen Dr, North York, ON M2K 1J8; Must work in employer's/client's home.

 

Job Duties:

1. Provide bedside and personal care of the seniors including but not limited to bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders.
2. Serve as a companion to the seniors.
3. Select and prepare meals for the seniors.
4. Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills.
5. Perform housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, laundry, etc.
6. Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the seniors.
7. Keep good communication with the family and supervisors regarding the seniors’ condition.
8. Administer first-aid or CPR to the seniors when necessary.

 

Requirements:

1. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
2. Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
3. First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.
4. Must be reliable, client-focused, organized with excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Must be able to speak and understand English.
