Broadview Flower Market is a retail flower shop that offers a wide assortment of flowers for every occasion. We are looking for a Flower Store Supervisor to lead our floral team and ensure the smooth operation of our store. This is a permanent, full-time position of 30 hours/week with a salary of $34.07/hour and 10 vacation days per year. Our store is located at 737 Broadview Avenue, Toronto, ON Canada, M4K 2P6.
The main responsibilities and duties will include:
- Assigning daily duties to sales workers based on skill sets and store needs to maximize efficiency and customer service
- Establishing and managing work schedules, ensuring coverage during peak hours, holidays, and special events
- Providing advice on floral arrangements and products
- Driving sales through effective merchandising and promotional strategies
- Organizing and maintaining inventory levels, conducting regular stock counts and audits to ensure the freshness and quality of products
- Managing relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate pricing where possible
- Preparing reports on sales volumes, inventory turnover, and shrinkage, identifying areas for improvement
- Preparing and analyzing reports on merchandising effectiveness and staff performance
- Managing cash handling processes, including daily cash reconciliation and deposits
The following skills are required for this position:
- Extensive experience in retail supervision
- Knowledge of floral design and trends, with the ability to provide design recommendations
- Knowledge of traditional Chinese arrangements for holidays and special occasions
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and special occasions
