Do Patti is a movie based on the crime mystery thriller genre. In this movie, actresses have played their roles with magnificence and supremacy.

At the beginning of the movie, we are shown a bridge where reporters and police are standing.

It appears like the boy attempting to drop the girl from the top is doing his best, and the girl is begging to be saved.

Then we see a lady police officer running towards them , after coming both of them are taken into custody.

The lady police officer asks the girl to tell the truth. What that boy do to her

Then the story goes into flashback, and we are shown a police station above the hill station. Wherever we see Vidya Jyoti, who was the new joinee, she is an inspector, then we see that she is talking to her colleague.

She is an inspector and was talking to her colleague; by then the light had gone off. Then the senior police officer called her in his cabin and said, "The climate of this place is very cold; get used to it.

.I understand why you post so frequently; just get accustomed to it. You are such an honorable police officer that you never leave any task unfinished. However, the residents of your residence do not share your values, thus you are constantly switching between police stations. Vidya Jyoti was also aware of the patrolling duty, which was of the worst kind.

She returns to her cabin after hearing her senior officer's lecture. They receive a call after arriving at the cabin, informing them that domestic abuse has occurred in a home. After hearing the case, the constable states that if a girl is slain by her husband,

The officer then responds, "Madam, you will either go or you will discover that the woman will complain that my husband does nothing," after hearing the complaint. After saying that we must go because the call has come and we will have to fulfill our duty, Vidya walks up to their house and opens the door. Standing next to her are Somiya Soot and an old woman. When Vidya inquires, the old woman tells the inspector that nothing has happened; the neighbor must have called. But Somiya remains silent out of fear. When Vidya asks where she found this small object, she responds that she was struck by the cupboard and that nothing is going on in her home or above her and closes the door on her face.

But she was very scared. After that, Vidya leaves from there.

The next day, the constable comes to her house and tells her that it is time to go to Madam Station and she is packing food. Then, from the constable and the conversation inside her, we get to know that this is a very strict police officer; she strictly follows the rule book.

Vidya got this strict nature and honesty from her father. Her father was a judge, and her mother was a lawyer. Vidya also had a degree in law. She keeps her degree well organized in her room. By profession, she's a police officer, but if she wants, she can fight anyone's case. She was engaged, but a few days ago she broke a vessel on her fiancé's head after learning about his extramarital affairs. Her anger is uncontrollable.

The constable says, Madam, sir, there is some trouble at the paragliding site. We should depart," the constable says. So did Sir. They then arrive at the scene where a woman is arguing with paragliding participants.

Dhruv Soot arrives before the police enter. He is Soumya Soot's husband. He was a handsome man who almost had a heroic appearance.

When he gets there, he calms everything down and makes the girl comfortable. In actuality, this paragliding site belongs to him.

The constable informs Vidya that it is his home where the domestic abuse was reported to us. Domestic abuse has been committed against his wife.

Vidya investigates the matter at Somiya's souvenir business after learning of that. She continues to search everywhere for Somiya.

Then, Soumya Soot approaches her and asks, "What do you want, madam?"

A girl who looks exactly like Soumya then comes in and speaks to them from behind.

Vidya gets shocked after seeing those two and comes out and sees the old woman whom she saw at Soumya's house. She says those two are twin sisters.

Vidya keeps thinking about whom she saw that night.

After some time, the old woman calls Vidya and asks her to meet in private.

She says, "I called you from home that day, & he will kill Soumya. Her husband is Dhruv Soot. Soumya can't even file a complaint because she doesn't want to lose to her sister.

She wants to save her family."

The old woman starts telling everything about those two twin sisters, and we see another flashback.

Soumya & Shaili were sisters. They were very close to their mother. Their mother used to take care of them all the time. Unfortunately, their father was an alcoholic. He used to drink all the time and didn't care about the family. Soumya was a simple and quiet girl, and Shaili was a bold & straight-forward girl.

To take good care of Soumya and Shaili, her mother brings a nanny, and that baby was actually the old woman who called the inspector.

Soumya used to call her "maa-ji" and Shaili "maa.". They were only ten years old when their mother passed away.

Due to her physical weakness, Soumya needed to utilize inhalers.

She needed greater attention from the babysitter as a result. This did not sit well with Shaili. "She is OK; she is just pretending for more attention; nothing happened to her," she used to claim.

They used to quarrel frequently, just like other siblings. But the father sends Shaili to the hostel as a result. Shaili was upset with Soumya at the time, and she told her, "I will see you," before heading to the hostel. Even though you are staying at home today and I am going out, I will never allow you to succeed in life." Shaili then departs for the hostel.

In a few days, their father also dies. But Shaili didn't come home. She also didn't visit home on hostel holidays. Years pass like this.

Soumya used to study and take care of the shop. She used to visit the paragliding point and spent some time over there. One day she met Dhruv over there. Dhruv was a handsome guy.

He traps Soumya in his words. He says to Soumya, "Why are you sitting here looking at the clouds when you can touch them? You can trust me."

She trusts him and goes paragliding. They both go paragliding together, & while paragliding, Soumya remembers her childhood.

She sees the way her mother and sister used to see the clouds. She becomes emotional and cries. When she comes down suddenly, she hugs Dhruv and says thank you.

She never thought that he would go into the clouds and she would be able to touch the clouds. Then gradually their relationship also progressed. They started spending time together.

She was scared to go forward than that. Their friendship started deepening.

One day Soumya had brought Dhruv to meet with others in the shop. They were all talking when Shaili arrived. As soon as she arrived, she talked very nicely with everyone, just like she used to before. She was very straightforward, and the clothes she wore were very modern. After seeing her, Dhruv was a bit attracted, and there was some conversation between them, which made Soumya very disappointed.

After that, Shaili was talking to her sister. She was triggering Soumya, saying that your close friend Dhruv is kind of my type, right? Do you think we both will look good together?

Soumya doesn't answer her because she was a calm girl. But she had understood that Shaili would take Dhruv away from her. And exactly that happened. She started spending more time with Dhruv.

They were also getting physical. Soumya was aware of everything but couldn't do anything about it. She had feelings for Dhruv, but she had convinced herself that Dhruv was now with her sister.

Dhruv was having a conversation outside his house with the tourism minister, where the minister needed to sign an approval for ?500 crore. Inside, a DJ party was going on, which was obviously organized by Shaily, who is very modern and can't live without music. She was also creating a bit of a scene with drinks, which prompted Dhruv to go inside to handle things. However, Shaily got on top of him and tried to get physical, which the minister also saw. He said, "We won’t hold this meeting now; we’ll do it later," and left. Dhruv felt embarrassed, almost missing out on sealing the deal just because of Shaily, who seemed unfazed, continuously smiling.

We see Soumya trying to manage Shaily and Druv. Just then, Dhruv’s mother arrives with two drinks and asks him if he has made the wrong choice. This causes Dhruv to feel some friction; he realizes he needs to decide between Shaily or Soumya. That night, we see Dhruv sitting alone with several bottles of alcohol, his eyes red. His father calls him, scolding him and saying, “Did you ever earn ?500 crore on your own? You’re living off my money! You canceled the deal with the minister. If you can’t handle this, leave it. How many messes can I cover for you? You’ve started behaving like a brat. Your mother was right; you should marry a decent girl and focus on your business.”

Dhruv is visibly angry, wanting to say something back to his father but feels restrained and unable to speak. He ends the call in frustration. The next morning, we see him at the paragliding point when Soumya arrives and informs him that Shaily is still drunk from last night and hasn’t woken up despite her being called multiple times. Dhruv directly asks Soumya if she would join him for paragliding, to which she agrees.

While they are up in the sky, Dhruv confesses to Soumya that he doesn’t want to run away anywhere; he wants to settle down in life, and all he needs is her to manage his home. He expresses that he doesn’t want much more adventure in life, as it can lead to a heart attack. Soumya accepts this and feels happy, not realizing that she is the second choice. It’s often seen that girls melt when they fall for someone sincerely.

Soon, both of them agree to be together. On the other hand, Shaily is completely unprepared for this development. She states, “I have no problem with you marrying me, but marrying my sister is my biggest problem. I can never lose to her; I’m always better.” Eventually, we see Dhruv and Soumya getting married, while Shaily is seen drinking at a bar. When it’s time for the family photo, she dresses exactly like Soumya and stands next to Dhruv, making it hard to distinguish who the real wife is. Shaily seems determined to ruin her sister’s married life and is willing to do anything for it, even crashing into Dhruv’s room on their wedding night dressed as Soumya.

Soumya feels very upset about this, leading to an argument. Fast forward to the present day, and we see Vidya asking about domestic violence and how many days after the wedding it began. Dhruv’s mother replies that it started just two to three months later. Meanwhile, Soumya has moved into her sister's in-laws’ house, as she doesn't want to stay in a place where domestic violence is occurring. Shaily also arrives under the pretense of their home being renovated and is currently living in Soumya's in-laws' house, where she attempts to seduce Soumya's husband in various ways to end Soumya’s marriage and bring her down.

Vidya mentions that unless Shaily files a complaint about her husband hitting her, they cannot take any action. She advises Dhruv’s mother to record video evidence if Soumya faces any abuse. The scene shifts back to the present day, where we see the minister eating dinner that Soumya prepared. The food is either too spicy or has been tampered with by Shaily, causing the minister to spit it out, complaining that he will never eat there again and will meet Dhruv directly in his office.

This infuriates Dhruv, who then drags Soumya by her hair into the kitchen, twisting her arm and verbally abusing her. Afterward, he leaves to drop the minister off, threatening Soumya that he will deal with her later. The next day, we see Dhruv’s mother and Soumya exiting a doctor’s office. Vidya asks Soumya why she hasn’t filed a complaint, suggesting that they take action. Soumya just says she fell and hurt herself.

Later, we see Soumya and Dhruv at the police station, where Dhruv shouts at the seniors about Vidya. He confronts Vidya, threatening her and asking why she is interfering in their family matters. He warns that if the senior officer doesn’t keep his nose out of their affairs, he’ll regret it. That night, we see Soumya in the kitchen again, and Dhruv comes up behind her, trying to get intimate. While they are intimate, Soumya mentions wanting children, which angers Dhruv. He yells, “Are you starting this drama again?” and pushes her away before storming off to his room.

The next morning, Dhruv’s mother tells Shaily that Soumya is being beaten and advises her to talk to her about why she is tolerating it and why she hasn’t reported it to the police. Shaily dismisses it, saying Soumya is just acting and that Dhruv is very happy with her. Dhruv later apologizes to Soumya, and she forgives him, not knowing the kind of love they have. Dhruv’s mother tells Shaily to leave them alone, stating that she has ruined their lives enough already. Shaily replies that it’s Dhruv’s husband who won’t leave her alone and assures her not to worry.

The following day, Shaily and Maa-ji go to the market to buy groceries while Soumya and Dhruv stay home alone. Soumya thinks everything is fine since Dhruv has apologized. However, when she brings up the topic of children again, Dhruv says he wants to focus on his business and doesn’t have time for kids. He scolds her for thinking only about children, urging her to think about future ambitions and learn from Shaili, saying he made a mistake choosing the wrong sister. Hearing this, Soumya loses her composure and accuses him of marrying her because he wanted a housewife, yet he questions her ambitions. She points out that her ambition is very clear, unlike his, who is merely managing the business with his father's money and still failing at it.

This infuriates Dhruv, and he starts beating Soumya, even pushing her down the stairs. Soumya is left in a very fragile state. Dhruv then approaches her, angrily asking, “Why do you make me angry? You know what I can do when I’m angry,” and storms out of the house. We see Soumya trying to clean herself up, hiding her bruises with makeup after returning from the doctor. Inspector Vidya observes everything from a distance.

Vidya instructs her constables to reopen old cases against Dhruv, wanting to know how many cases his rich father has hidden.

In another scene, Maa-ji warns him one more time that if he lays a finger on her daughter, she will go to the police. Dhruv casually replies that Soumya is mentally unstable and has been on medication since childhood. “I can tell the police she’s a depression patient with a lot of pills; they won’t suspect me at all. My father will take care of everything,” he says. This threatens his mother, who becomes quiet.

Next, we see Soumya cleaning her mother’s picture frantically. Shaili arrives to ask for the shop keys, shocked by Soumya’s condition. She believes Soumya is acting and takes the keys before leaving. Soon after, we see Dhruv talking to Shaili, stating that he now has to deal with Inspector Vidya. He threatens Vidya as well but gets no response. She informs him that she’ll personally deal with him if he continues to threaten her.

Dhruv leaves angrily, returning to his car, where Shaili is already waiting. She tries to calm him down as he complains about Soumya, saying, "Save me from your crazy sister. I don’t want to live with her, and I’ve never harmed her. She fell off the stairs herself, burnt her own hand, and then blamed me." Dhruv leans on Shaili’s shoulder and cries, and she embraces him.

Vidya observes everything from a distance. Later, this information reaches the police station, and both Dhruv and his wife Soumya are summoned for questioning. Soumya denies any harm from her husband, claiming it was an accident. Dhruv feels delighted hearing this, and Somiya also announces that they are expecting a child, which Dhruv didn't know. Given the situation, Dhruv plays along.

Later that night, Dhruv thanks Soumya, promising her that he will change and make a fresh start. The following day, at the Holi party, Dhruv starts flirting with Shaili again. Soumya notices this and calls Dhruv, asking him to accompany her to the paragliding spot.

As previously revealed in the story, Dhruv had tried to push Somiya off, but others, including Shaili, Vidya, and Somiya’s nanny, were there to witness the incident. People record videos, proving Dhruv's attempt to kill Soumya. At the police station, Soumya finally confesses, explaining that Dhruv unbuckled her harness with the intention to harm her. Dhruv, from jail, claims it's all a lie. Eventually, Dhruv’s powerful father intervenes, but Vidya decides to take the case herself, determined to get justice. Due to the video evidence, the case goes to court. Vidya represents Somiya, where Dhruv denies all accusations, claiming Somiya is mentally ill and on medication. However, Vidya counters that someone who’s scared of heights wouldn’t undo their own harness. Considering all evidence, Dhruv is charged with domestic violence and attempted murder and sentenced to 13 years in prison.

As everyone congratulates Vidya on solving the case, she senses that everything fell into place too easily, as if someone handed her all the evidence. Vidya digs deeper, while elsewhere we see The Nanny and Sheli discussing that they did the right thing, emphasizing sisterly loyalty.

A flashback reveals that Sheli knew about the domestic abuse Somiya endured and, seeing her condition, decided to help her sister. Meanwhile, Vidya confronts Dhruv again, seeking more details. Dhruv recalls stopping by a shop for an inhaler on the way to the paragliding spot, which begins to clarify things for Vidya. She realizes that Sheli, disguised as Somiya, had swapped places to carry out the plan.

In court, Somiya finally confesses about her family’s past, detailing the abuse her mother suffered in silence, eventually leading to her death, and how societal pressure kept them from speaking out. Somiya apologizes, acknowledging her and her family's role in her mother's demise, hoping that Vidya, understanding the burden of such a reality, will give them a chance to live in peace.

Vidya, deeply moved by Somiya's statement, decides not to present certain evidence, understanding that rules often fail to serve those without power. The movie ends with a social message about domestic violence and the struggles of women in a male-dominated society.
