We are currently searching for two experienced Bricklayers.

Duties:

  • Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required
  • Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
  • Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, structural tiles, and similar materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, and other structures in the residential construction
  • Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential
  • Lay radial bricks to build masonry
  • Lay bricks, stone, or similar materials to provide veneer facing to walls or other surfaces
  • Lay bricks or other masonry units to build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations
  • May restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures

 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge in preparing and laying bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles and/ or other masonry units.

 

You will be required to train apprentices.

 

Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Gloves, trowel, shoveler, pencil, tape, belt with hammer

 

Transportation/Travel Information: Company will provide transportation

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling

 

Work Setting: Residential

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of work experience
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages

 

Terms of Employment:

Permanent Position/40 hours per week

 

Hours of Work:

From Monday to Friday 

The shift is from 7 am to 3 pm

Salary:

$ 50.83 per hour according to the LiUNA local 183

 

If you do not have the full work experience necessary for this role, you will be classified as an apprentice and will earn 75% of the Collective Bargaining Agreement wage. Over time, we will conduct assessments to promote you to 100% of the wage.
