Location: Etobicoke, ON M8W 3C4

Salary: $45.00 hourly / 35 hours per Week

Overtime: 1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze and optimize database performance to enhance data retrieval speed, ensuring efficient storage and management of large datasets for users.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust database systems that support various business operations and accommodate evolving organizational data needs effectively.
• Develop comprehensive data models and database schemas based on user requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategies.
• Conduct thorough data quality assessments to guarantee the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of information stored within the database systems.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for effective data extraction and reporting, enabling informed decision-making across the organization.
• Collaborate with IT teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability and availability.
• Monitor database systems continuously for performance issues, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and overall user experience.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for database design, processes, and procedures, providing a valuable resource for future reference and training.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, implementing best practices for database management to protect sensitive organizational information.
• Regularly evaluate and assess emerging database technologies and tools to identify opportunities that can enhance organizational capabilities and boost operational efficiency.

Eligibility Requirements:

• College/CEGEP is the minimum educational requirement.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience is required for this position.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools quickly, demonstrating a willingness to continuously learn and improve skills.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts and tools for effective database design.
• Strong analytical skills to assess data quality and integrity issues accurately.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python, R, or Java is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to write complex queries for data analysis and reporting purposes
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools quickly.
